UWAEZUOKE – HOW TO HAVE EVERYTHING IN LIFE

How to have it allUWAEZUOKE –  HOW TO HAVE EVERYTHING IN LIFE

You cannot have it all is a mantra every living human may have heard for the umpteenth time.

Our parents teach us not to expect everything in life and our teachers often tell us to go for the most important things in life.

We do not know what to hope for and what to pursue.

We also do not know what the line that spells average is. What is average for Mr. A may be small or big for Mr. B and yet we are advised not to go overboard.

Is it possible to have it all in life? Yes, it is.

How did I know it was possible to have it all?

2 Peter 1:3

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his glory and goodness.” NIV

This scripture says God’s divine power has given us EVERYTHING we need for the following.

  1. Life
  2. Godliness

Everything means everything, nothing left behind.

How then do we know what “everything” in this verse encapsulates?

This is because we do not have a list of what the scripture means by everything but it did say everything.

The way of God is that he tells you what is possible and leaves you to find it.

Proverbs 25:2

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter;
to search out a matter is the glory of kings.” NIV

God conceals a matter and it is our glory to search it out. God has told us that we can have everything we need for life and that we can have everything we need to be godly.

But he didn’t give all of the information; he left out part of the secret for us to search out. The answers are out there but the work of man is to find it out.

And also because no man has the entire counsel of God. God speaks through many people in parts, so we need each other to be able to get a holistic view of God.

This is why we cannot afford to write anyone sent by God off, they have what God wants us to learn.

Many people ask how can a young man lead a sexually pure life in a sexually perverse world. People think that it is not possible to lead a chaste life.

But since we know it is possible to lead a godly life, we go looking for how to do that.

I did and I found a way.

Psalm 119:9

How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.” NIV

The psalmist said it is by living according to the word of God.

How do we live according to God’s word?

Psalm 119:11

11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.” NIV

We live the word by hiding the word in our hearts.

This is a deep statement. God is not asking us to live holy by ourselves, he is asking us to find the tools he’s left us to live holy and one of the tools is to hide the word in our hearts.

Hiding the word means confessing the word with our mouth till it gets down to our hearts and bears fruit.

When the word gets planted in our hearts, it is like the mustard seed which is the smallest seed but grows to become the largest tree.

Plant the word and the word will rise to help you not sin against God.

God doesn’t want you to try to live righteous by yourself because you cannot.

Just like I searched the scripture to find out how to live a sexually pure life, that is how we should search the scripture to find other things that are among the “everything” God has made available to us.

How do we access these things?

Part B of the scripture says through the knowledge of him who called us according by his glory and goodness.

This is the method through which we access this.

Who called us by his glory and goodness so we know who to pursue his knowledge?

2 Timothy 1:9

“ He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time “ NIV

It is Jesus who has called according to us according to his glory and goodness.

Remember, Christ reflects the glory of the Father, the church reflects the glory of Christ and the wife reflects the glory of the husband according to the following scriptures.

Hebrews 1:3

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” NIV

2 Corinthians 3:18

18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” NIV

1 Corinthians 11:7 – 8

A man ought not to cover his head,[b] since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.” NIV

The question then becomes, are you searching the scriptures to discover everything God has made available?

That is how to have everything in life.

God has even hidden himself because he also expects us to search for him.

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

We must search for these things including God.

One of the things I do not want to experience is to have to go to heaven and find out that there are provisions God has made for me while on earth which I didn’t know nor did I access.
